In Chinese culture, the lotus Seedpod is a beloved symbol of auspiciousness, with the following three major beautiful connotations:
- Fertility and Blessings: The lotus seedpod contains many lotus seeds, symbolizing “prosperous descendants and a flourishing family.”
- Noble Character: As part of the lotus flower, the lotus pod also embodies the same noble and pure qualities as the lotus.
- Perfection and Good Fortune: With its round shape and plump seeds, the lotus seedpod signifies “a happy and fulfilling life.”

About Bodhi Seed
In Sanskrit, "Bodhi" means "enlightened" or "awakened," so "Bodhi Seed" refers to the "seed of enlightenment." It is said that Prince Siddhartha (Shakyamuni Buddha) attained enlightenment while meditating under the Bodhi tree. As the "seed of enlightenment," many practitioners wear Bodhi seeds during meditation in the hope of ultimately achieving enlightenment. In Buddhism, the term "Bodhi" also represents the Buddha's insight into the true nature of all things. These seeds with dark spots hold special significance for all those who seek divine wisdom.
Bodhi seeds do not refer to the seeds of a single type of plant; they come in a wide variety, mainly including:
- White Jade Bodhi:the mature seed of a palm-family tree; once its husk is removed, the kernel becomes hard and snow-white, resembling jade.
- Star & Moon Bodhi: It has evenly distributed black spots ("stars") on the surface and a sunken round hole ("moon") in the center, hence the name "Star & Moon". The common colors are white, yellow, and dark brown.
- Vajra Bodhi: It has a hard texture and is covered with dense ridges.
- Phoenix Eye Bodhi: It features a clear crescent-shaped pattern on the surface, resembling the "eye of a phoenix".
Bodhi seeds offer at least the following four blessings:
- Provide enlightenment during meditation.
- Offer a sense of tranquility and insight.
- Enhance your focus and connection.
- Assist in entering conscious practice and the spiritual path.
